... to compare central models and theories of at least one of the chosen major fields of study (Banking and Financial Controlling, Business Taxation, Financing, Innovation Management, International Accounting and Auditing, Strategy and Organization, Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior, Production and Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Controlling, Sales and Marketing) and have characterized at least one of them in term papers;
... from the module group S-BWL in combination with the module group General Management apply a broad and integrated knowledge of business administration in order to understand and critically assess new scientific problems and tasks (exemplified by the following modules: International Finance, Corporate Taxation III: Legal Form-oriented Corporate Taxation, Strategic Financial Management and Corporate Governance, Innovation in Networks, Group Accounting according to HGB and IFRS, Methods of Market Research, Strategic Renewal and Organizational Transformation, Leadership and Management Development, Operations Management, Value-oriented Controlling);
... to analytically penetrate complex scientific problems in the field of business administration and to reflect on them in a theory-based and perspective-oriented manner;
... independently design a comprehensive research paper in which they apply learned knowledge to a designed research question, taking into account generally accepted principles of good scientific practice and applying and justifying specific research methods, and assess their contribution to the corresponding sub-discipline of business administration, as they have shown in the context of their final thesis;
... select, adapt and apply more complex qualitative and quantitative methods (e.g. from surveys, expert interviews) to specific questions in business administration and design their own ideas and reflect on their implementation, as they have shown in term papers and presentations.

... also to develop solutions for complex or novel issues in business administration using scientific methods and to apply these in professional practice, as they have shown in modules such as Research Issues in Banking and Financial Controlling, Current Issues in Business Taxation, Empirical and Experimental Financial Market Research, Research Seminar on International Innovation Strategies, Research Seminar on International Accounting and Auditing, Qualitative Methodology in Strategy and Organization Research, Research Seminar on Human Resource Management, Product and Service Innovations in Supply Chain Management, Current Research Issues in Corporate Management and Controlling, Research Seminar International Marketing;
... to apply the theoretically acquired knowledge and the learned management tools to entrepreneurial problems in a way that is appropriate to the requirements and the situation and to develop their own approaches to solutions on the basis of established theories and methods, as they have demonstrated in the successful processing of the master's thesis topic and proved argumentatively in the oral defense of the thesis.
