Qualification goals

The bachelor's degree program in business administration leads to a first academic university degree with professional qualifications. It prepares students for more advanced courses of study.

Scientific qualification

Graduates of the bachelor's program in business administration are able to,

  • ... compare central models and theories of at least one of the chosen major fields of study (Banking and Financial Controlling, Business Taxation I, Financing, Innovation Management, International Accounting and Auditing, Strategy and Organization, Human Resource Management and Organizational Behavior, Production and Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Controlling, Sales and Marketing, Business Education I or II) and have characterized at least one of them in term papers;
  • ... acquire and reproduce large amounts of theoretical and methodological knowledge or be able to evaluate it with regard to its usefulness, as they have demonstrated in the module group General Business Administration with 10 obligatory modules;

    ... are able to apply the theoretically acquired knowledge and the learned management instruments to entrepreneurial problems in a requirement- and situation-oriented manner by working on case studies, e.g. in the context of Finance (e.g. Introduction to Financing and Investment, Cases in Corporate Finance), Innovation Management (e.g. Innovation-oriented Corporate Management);
    ... are able, through the preparation of assignments and seminar papers in conjunction with a presentation, for example in the modules International Entrepreneurship, Business Plan Preparation, Knowledge Management, Grand Challenges: Organizational Perspectives and Response, Diversity Management, to independently analyze and optimize operational processes by being able to justify their own professional actions with theoretical and methodological knowledge;
    ... are able to develop their own approaches to solutions based on established theories and methods as well as to recognize interdisciplinary problems and to develop possible contributions of business administration to the solution of such problems with the preparation of the scientific thesis (Bachelor's thesis) and the associated supervision process and the obligatory colloquium or a disputation.

Graduates of the bachelor's degree program in business administration,

  • ... have learned in group work through the processing of case studies, e.g. in the context of the modules Innovation-Oriented Corporate Management, International Corporate Management as well as through the preparation of homework and seminar papers (exemplarily through the following modules: Knowledge Management, Grand Challenges: Organizational Perspectives and Response) and the results jointly presented in the group, they have learned to critically examine the models and theories of business administration and to represent their topic in a comprehensible and objective manner. In doing so, they take into account other people's points of view;
  • ... can work together in groups, make decisions, set priorities, distribute tasks and take responsibility for themselves or their own task in the group, as they have shown in group work by working on case studies and by preparing homework and seminar papers and the results presented jointly in the group;
