Confused? Intrigued? Interested? Then join the book club on 15 June at Esspress Café at 4pm to discuss Liz Nugent's crime novel. Book club stickers will be provided naturally.

 

Julia Armfield's Private Rites is a reimagination of Shakespeare's King Lear, but centers three queer women - the sister Agnes, Isla and Irene - as they navigate love and loss at the end of the world. The book club meets on January 12 at 4 pm (Esspress). Read & bring along your copy of the novel, grab a book club sticker, enjoy!

Come and join the discussion of Natasha Brown's Assembly, a novel depicting the grind of everyday prejudice as told through they eyes of a young Black British woman.

With the chair's Halloween event focused on George Orwell's novel 1984 it was only fitting to read Sandra Newman's Julia, a retelling of 1984 from Julia's perspective.
