Urgently seeking tandem partners for ERASMUS doctoral students! - Request from the International Office

The University’s International Office is urgently looking for participants for their tandem programme for the upcoming semester. Please find all further information below.

The International Office’s Incoming Exchange Students team organises a so-called tandem programme (buddy programme) for its exchange students every semester. This programme aims to support newly arriving students with their start here in Bamberg. The programme is completely voluntary which is why there are no guidelines as to how this support is supposed to look like. Some meet for coffee and cake every couple of weeks, others help with opening a bank account. It is completely up to all participants.

Sadly, we received significantly fewer applications for the winter semester 2025/2026 from local students than expected. This led to there still being three PhD candidates and one mature Master’s student who are all coming to the University of Bamberg as part of the ERASMUS programme who have not been partnered up.

Hence, I would like to ask you all whether you would like to agree to become a tandem partner for one of our not partnered up exchange students. If you would like to, we could also partner you with more than one exchange students.

If you were interested and/or have questions, I am at your disposal via tandem.international(at)uni-bamberg.de
