Consistency Beats Contingency. Exploring the (In-)Visibility of Decision Processes in Project Organizations.

In seiner Dissertation besch?ftigt sich Dennis Schoeneborn mit kommunikativen Problemen organisationalen Wachstums. Ein besonderes Augenmerk liegt hierbei auf der Frage, inwieweit Entscheidungsprozesse innerhalb von Projektorganisationen beobachtbar werden, und welche Rolle kollaborativen Kommunikationsmedien (wie z.B. Microsoft PowerPoint) in diesem Zusammenhang zukommt. Die Fragestellung wird auf Basis von Ans?tzen der Theorie sozialer Systeme (Luhmann), Strukturationstheorie (Giddens) und Aktor-Netzwerk-Theorie (Latour) sowie anhand einer empirischen Fallstudie in der organisationalen Praxis beleuchtet.

In his doctoral thesis, Dennis Schoeneborn examines communicative problems of organizational growth. His study investigates the question to what extent decision processes become visible within project organizations and what role collaborative media of communication (such as Microsoft PowerPoint, for example) do play in this context. This research question is approached with reference to social systems theory (Luhmann), structuration theory (Giddens), and actor-network theory (Latour) as well as by means of an empirical case study in organizational practice.
