Enterprise Business Information Systems
Overview
Industrial enterprise business information systems form the backbone of service provision in production and trading companies. Enterprise resource planning systems enable the operational planning, management and control of all operational resources. Management support systems use the operational database to support strategic planning and decision-making in complex, poorly structured problem areas. The module provides in-depth knowledge of the tasks, architectures and technologies of internal industrial information systems.
The objective of the course is to equip participants with the following knowledge and skills:
- Knowledge and ability to analyze industrial business processes, tasks and solution procedures
- Ability to solve problems in the field of ERP and MSS
- Knowledge of the architectures and functions of in-house business systems
- Ability to integrate and adapt in-house business systems
This course requires basic knowledge of the structure and architecture of business information systems, as taught, for example, in the modules Introduction to Information Systems (ISM-EidWI-B) and Development of Enterprise Application Systems (IIS-EBAS-B).
The course has a workload of 180 hours and is awarded 6 ECTS credits, which can be earned in a 90-minute written examination.
