Childcare and everyday university life belong together.
The University of Bamberg is a family-friendly university offering a wide range of support measures. These are equally aimed at students, academic staff, and professors. Regardless of gender or position! The goal is to sustainably reconcile family responsibilities and university work at all levels.
To implement this family-friendly approach at our faculty, a range of specific services has been developed that can be used at any time.
In the parent–child room in Room 00.83, a variety of play options are available for children of all age groups. Here, children can play, move around, and let off steam while parents attend to their university duties.
The access code for the key box can be obtained on request from the F21 front desk, the caretakers, the student representatives, the Family Office, or via email.
In the SoWi faculty cafeteria, there is a small play corner with books and small toys. While parents are having their meal, children can play there and keep themselves occupied.
On the third floor, a diaper-changing and breastfeeding facility is available in the women’s restroom. Parents can use this space to change or breastfeed their child in a quiet and private setting.
In addition, diaper-changing and breastfeeding facilities are also available in the parent–child room.
