Biography

Alexander Patzina (https://sites.google.com/view/alexanderpatzina/home) studied geography and economics (B.A.) as well as social economics (M.Sc.) at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg. Afterwards, he was a researcher at the Institute for Employment Research from 2014 to 2022. In spring 2018, he was invited for a research stay at the Centre for Quantitative Social Science at the University College London (UCL) and was Honorary Research Fellow at the Institute of Education at UCL between 2019 and 2022. In 2019, he received his doctorate at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (first advisor: Prof. Dr. Monika Jungbauer-Gans, second advisor: Prof. Dr. Brigitte Schels). Since April 2022 he is an assistant professor ("Akademischer Rat") at the Chair of Sociology, with special emphasis on Social Inequality at the University of Bamberg. Alexander Patzina has also been a postdoctoral fellow of the Daimler and Benz Foundation since March 2024.
