Qualification Goals and Professional Perspectives
The M.A. course in Islamic Art and Archaeology aims at developing competences of scholarly work. Graduates will be able to explore artefacts and works of art from Islamic cultures in a scholarly approach and to present results of their research. The course trains the abilities for employment and work referring to Islamic art and cultural history. Besides, it supports developing the students’ personalities and social competences, for example by sharpening the profile of knowledge and abilities particularly with regard to trans-cultural matters.
Graduates will have skills and competences specialized for certain positions in museums and in the wider fields of art and culture. Tourism, libraries and publishing houses as well as research institutions offer further possibilities for employment. Graduates pursuing further academic qualification can continue with the PhD in Islamic Art and Archaeology at the University of Bamberg.
