Career Prospects after Graduation
Demand for IT-specialists
The demand for IT specialists remains high. At the end of 2020, there will be 86,000 vacancies across all sectors, which is the second-highest figure since 2011. Software specialists are particularly in demand in the economy, according to the latest study on the labor market for IT specialists by the digital association Bitkom.1 "It is precisely during the crisis that it is decided which companies can successfully position themselves for the digital future. Now is the time to invest in digital business models, and that absolutely requires digital expertise," says Bitkom President Achim Berg.
Income Opportunities
According to the German Federal Employment Agency, 75% of all business IT specialists earn more than €50,052 per year. With even more professional experience, however, the salary can rise even further: Over 70,000€ is then not uncommon.2
