Workstation for microforms
Microforms are microreproductions of printed publications on analogue film. In the past, they were often used for library catalogues, bibliographies, newspaper archives, and dissertations or theses. Nowadays, they are still used to a certain extent for long-term preservation.
There are a couple of formats: microfiche (flat sheets in A6 format) and microfilm (on 16 mm reels).
The University Library offers reading options for microfiches in all branch libraries (except ERBA Library). Microfilms can be read in the Bamberg State Library.
For printing and digitising microforms we ask you to make an appointment with the Bamberg State Library.
