Open Research and Teaching Assistant Position with an empirical background
The Human-Interaction Group at the University of Bamberg is opening a position for the next possible date as a
Graduate/Post-Doc Research and Teaching Assistant (m/f/d)
(50% to 100% of regular working time; German tariff scale TV-L E 13)
for 2 years. An extension of up to 6 years is possible. The position offers the possibility of doing a PhD or Post-Doc.
The HCI Group designs, develops, and evaluates technological concepts, prototypes, and systems based on an understanding of how people interact with and communicate through information and communication technology.
Task description:
- Participation in research, particularly in designing, developing and evaluating technological concepts, prototypes, and systems based on an understanding of how people interact with and communicate through information and communication technology
- Teaching and supervising seminars and bachelor’s and master’s theses
- Own scientific qualification with the aim PhD or Habilitation
Requirement profile:
- Master or PhD degree with strong empirical focus (e.g. psychology, sociology, human-computer interaction, human factors, etc.) is a prerequisite
- Experience in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and especially in User Experience and Usability Engineering with ideally knowledge of Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW), or Mobile and Ubiquitous Computing is a bonus
- Knowledge of and experience with quantitative empirical methods
- Experience with statistical software (e.g.: SPSS, R)
- Good command of English (and willingness to learn German)
- Experience in macOS is a bonus
