Part-time Studies
Since the 2011/12 winter semester, the bachelor’s programme in German Language, Literatures and Cultures has been available as a part-time as well as full-time programme.
Studying on a part-time basis is particularly helpful for students with children, working students and students with disabilities or chronic illnesses, as the extended study period reduces the workload during the semester.
When studied part time, the bachelor's degree programme takes 12 semesters instead of 6 semesters. The master’s degree programme take 6 or 8 semesters instead of 3 or 4 semesters.
You do not need to provide any reasons to enrol in a part-time course. You may also switch from a full-time model to a part-time model during any semester’s enrolment period. This reduces the workload in each semester by half.
For more information on studying part time, see the corresponding page on the University website.
