FORSCHEnde FRAUEN in Bamberg

The Colloquium as an Opportunity to Present - Publish - Network

The FORSCHEnde FRAUEN colloquium was first organized by the former University-wide Women's Representative Prof. Dr. M. Wagner-Braun. It provided early-career female researchers with an opportunity to present innovative research projects, to gain initial lecturing and publishing experience, and to network with other early-career female researchers at the University of Bamberg.

About the Colloquium

Female researchers from all disciplines were given the opportunity to present their research to the university community. This consequently allowed the work of women to become more visible to everyone.

With the support of the Women's Office, the contributions were published in an open-access format and are still available under the series title FORSCHende FRAUEN in Bamberg. As a result, early-career female researchers were offered more publication opportunities and the interdisciplinary research of women at the University of Bamberg gained more attention.

The colloquium was an important measure of the University-wide Women's Representatives for the goal-specific advancement of early-career female researchers at the University of Bamberg. The focus group of this initiative was doctoral candidates, but postdocs who wanted to expand their research portfolio also participated. From 2008 to 2021, a total of 63 female researchers participated in the colloquium.

Reports on the individual colloquia of the FORSCHEnde FRAUEN are available on our blog (in German).
