The Academic Equal Opportunity Officers have created a structured support program for early-career female researchers. These programs are designed as flexible as possible and aim to support early-career researchers at critical junctions in their careers.
PUSh-the Award of the Academic Equal Opportunity Officers for the Outstanding Achievements of Female Students was designed to aid graduates in starting a research career. After starting a PhD Program, female early-career researchers are supported through a mentoring program, the Female Researcher Network (FeRNet). FeRNet not only supports through a mentoring relationship but also is an interdisciplinary opportunity for early-career researchers to network, strategically plan their career, and strengthen their self-perception as an academic. For the PostDoc stage, SPOT offers a platform for advanced early-career researchers to showcase their work by financing a conference at the University of Bamberg.
All stages of an academic career are accompanied by the Step by Step program, which aims to support early-career researchers through every step of their academic career from PhD to Post-Habilitation with short-term scholarships. The goal is to bridge the gap between the different stages of an academic career, thus preventing a so-called leaky pipeline.
