Welcome to the Chair of Experimental Software Engineering

The Chair of Experimental Software Engineering at the University of Bamberg focuses on understanding, evaluating and improving software development activities (e.g., processes) as well as the products of these activities (e.g., source code, software applications), based on empirically-grounded insights.

The goal of our research is to empirically analyze the work of software developers and their products, develop theories, and, based on these, provide practices and tools for more effective and efficient software development and maintenance.

The goal of our teaching is to train graduates in theories, methods, and tools for the systematic evaluation and improvement of software development activities and software products.
