Background information

The SAS master's program can be studied part-time. Part-time studying offers students with children, students with part-time jobs, or students with disabilities or chronic illnesses an opportunity to reduce their study load during the semester and extend the duration of their studies in return.

The duration of the master's program changes from 4 semesters to 8 semesters of part-time study. Enrolment in a part-time study program is possible without providing reasons. It is also possible to change from full-time to part-time study at the end of any semester. The required study achievements are halved accordingly per semester.

Part-time study is governed by the regulations for part-time study.

A study recommendation for the SAS part-time master's degree can be found under regulations and documents. Further information on part-time studies can be found on the university's central pages.

SAS student voices

“The SAS part-time option has been a perfect companion to my career. The flexibility to shape my schedule each semester, choose from a wide range of subjects, and attend classes at times that work for me means my studies genuinely fit around my full-time job. While most SAS classes are in person, the occasional online option is a welcome bonus. What I love most is how directly the concepts connect to my work, making every class feel both practical and inspiring. This program grows alongside my career.”

Rakchini Subramaniam, SAS student since 2025.
