Course Description
The module discusses innovative financial products as well as their implementation within financial and risk management. To begin with, the main innovative financial products like forwards, futures and financial options are presented and their operating principle in the context of hedging is illustrated. Based on this, their valuation by means of financial market models is explained. The course focuses on the valuation of
financial options by means of the binominal model as well as in the frame of the Black-Scholes model. Furthermore, the main features of the state preference theory are taught.
