General Information
Implementing a privacy policy is our concern and our legal obligation. In order to ensure the security of your data during transfer, we utilize adequate ciphering methods (e.g. SSL/TLS) and secure technical systems in accordance with the latest state-of-the-art.
Please be aware that data transfer via the internet is subject to security risks and, therefore, complete protection against third-party access to transferred data cannot be ensured.
In principle, it is possible to utilize the information offered by the graduate school with the help of browsers in which Java-Applets, Active-X-Controls and Cookie are deactivated. An adequate indication will occur in case the deactivation resticts the functionality of the website.

Aims and Legal Grounds for Processing
We offer our administrative services and information about our activities for the public on our websites in accordance with Art. 2 Para. 6 BayHSchG, Art. 4 Para. 1 P.1 and 2 BayEGovG.
Our Social Media appearances are part of our public relations. We strive to inform our target audience appropriately and to promote the exchange of ideas and information (Art.2 Para. 6 BayHSchG). We enable you to contact us electronically and offer a direct communication using the media of your choice § 5 Para. 1 No. 2 TMG.
We disclose any content, articles and inquiries, which violate third-party rights or comply with the facts of a criminal or an administrative offence to the responsible authority or to the social media service and block or delete such.
We use cookies, logfiles and statistics from social media providers and from the web analysis service Matomo in order to compile business statistics, to perform organisational reviews, to inspect or maintain our web service and to ensure network and information security in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 BayDSG, §13 Para. 7 TMG, Art. 11 Para. 1 BayEGovG. We anonymise or pseudonymise personal data only if it does not impair the purpose of processing.

Administration and Editorial Department
For administrative and editorial purposes, function identifiers and personal identification are created with access protection und changes, which are performed with these identifiers are logged.
Log Files
Through the access of this or other internet pages, you transmit data via your web browser to our web server. The following data is logged during a running connection between your internet browser and our web server:
- Date and time of the request
- Name of the requested file
- Page from which the file was requested
- Access status (e.g. file transmitted, file not found)
- Utilised web browser, monitor resolution and utilised operating system

These cookies release partial information in order to recognise you automatically. This recognition takes place due to the IP-address information stored in the cookies. The information which is so acquired helps us to enhance our contents and facilitates your access to our web page.
For the usage of our web site cookies from the web statistics Matomo are set (see opt-out solution below). In addition, cookies are only put in place in particular cases such as the filling in of forms or login procedures.
Communication
If you communicate a concern or an opinion via E-mail, post, telephone, fax or social media channels, we process the details of your concern for the purpose of processing your request. For this purpose we always uitilize the same communication channel, provided that you do not wish a switch.
Matomo (formerly: PIWIK)
Our website uses Matomo (formerly: PIWIK). This is open-source software with which we can analyze the use of our site. Data such as your IP address, the pages you visit, the website from which you came (referrer URL), the duration of your visit, and the frequency of your visits is processed.
Matomo stores a cookie on your device via your browser in order to collect this data. This cookie is valid for one week.
The legal basis is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the analysis and optimization of our website.
We use Matomo with the "Automatically Anonymize Visitor IPs" function. This anonymization function truncates your IP address by two bytes so that it is impossible to assign it to you or to the internet connection you are using.
If you do not agree to this processing, you have the option of preventing the installation of cookies by making the appropriate settings in your browser. Further details can be found in the section about cookies above.
In addition, you have the option of terminating the analysis of your usage behavior by opting out. By confirming the link a cookie is stored on your device via your browser to prevent any further analysis. Please note, however, that you must click the above link again if you delete the cookies stored on your end device.

Personalized accesses to our website by the administration and editorial department are restricted during processing after withdrawal of the concerned person and deleted one year after the date of the withdrawal.
Log Files
As a rule all personal data is stored for seven days at the longest.
Cookies
Cookies are set for the duration of the browser session. This is not valid for the technical objection clause to the Matomo web statistics.
Online job applications / publication of job advertisements
We offer you the opportunity to apply for jobs with our company via our website. In the case of these digital applications, we collect your application data electronically in order to process your application.
The legal basis for this processing is §26 Para. 1 S. 1 BDSG in conjunction with Art. 88 Para. 1 GDPR.
If you are hired as a result of the application process, we will store the data you provide during the application process in your personnel file for the purpose of the usual organizational and administrative process, naturally in compliance with further legal obligations.

If we do not hire you, we will automatically delete the data submitted to us two months after the final decision is made. We will not delete the data, however, if we must store the data for legal reasons such as evidence of equal treatment of applicants, until any legal action is concluded, or four months.
In this case, the legal basis is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f) GDPR and §24 Para. 1 No. 2 BDSG. Our legitimate interest lies in any legal defence we may have to mount.
If you expressly consent to a longer storage of your data, e.g. for your inclusion in a database of applicants or interested parties, the data will be processed further on the basis of your consent. The legal basis is then Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a) GDPR. You may withdraw your consent at any time with future effect per Art. 7 Para. 3 GDPR with future effect.
Rights of the Persons Affected
Compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation the following rights appertain to you:
If your personal data is processed, you have the right to obtain information about the stored data about your person (Art. 15 DSGVO).
If inaccurate personal data is processed, you have the right to rectification (Art. 16 DSGVO).
You can request the deletion or the restriction of processing as well as enter an objection against the processing in case the legal requirements exist (Art. 17, 18 und 21 DSGVO).
If you have consented to the data processing or if a contract for data processing exits and the data processing is conducted with the aid of automated procedures, then you have the right to data transferability if applicable (Art. 20 DSGVO).
If you exercise the above-mentioned right, then the official authorities verify if the legal requirements are met for this purpose.
Furthermore, the right of appeal still persists, and, on that account, you can contact the Bavarian State Representative for Data Protection.
Information/Cancellation/Deletion
On the basis of the Federal Data Protection Act, you may contact us at no cost if you have questions relating to the collection, processing or use of your personal information, if you wish to request the correction, blocking or deletion of the same, or if you wish to cancel explicitly granted consent. Please note that you have the right to have incorrect data corrected or to have personal data deleted, where such claim is not barred by any legal obligation to retain this data.
Miscellaneous Concerning our Data Protection Policy
We reserve the right to adapt this data protection policy occasionally in order to constantly comply with the latest legal requirements or in order to implement changes of our services in the data protection policy, e.g. the introduction of new services. The new data protection policy is then valid for your next visit.
