The field of Information Systems deals with the "nervous system" of companies and other organizations in industry and public administration - it is the design and management of information systems using modern information technologies.
Bamberg's bachelor's programme in Information Systems, as laid out by Germany's first faculty of Information Systems and Applied Computer Sciences (WIAI), offers you an education with a focus on internationality and practical expertise.
As an Information Systems graduate, you analyse and design companies' information processes. You are the link between individual departments and the IT division. You devise flexible and effective IT-based business processes and, in doing so, help your company to maintain an advantageous position in the arena of global competition.
The most important prerequisite for studying Information Systems is a keen interest in matters of information processing and business issues. Furthermore, you should process an aptitude for abstraction and conceptual work. You should enjoy working with people, be a team player and show personal initiative, as your professional life will to a large degree be characterised by productive involvement in interdisciplinary teamwork. Sound knowledge of German, English and mathematics are also a must!
