Often, research on introducing conversational agents (CAs) at the workplace focuses on its positive aspects, such as their ability to support a variety of work-related tasks. Whereas that depicts CAs as benevolent teammates, it neglects their role in collecting user data, reducing worker autonomy, and fostering social isolation. To examine the ethical challenges teams face when using these technologies, Professor Mirbabaie and his colleagues conducted 15 expert interviews with senior researchers from the fields of ethics, collaboration, and computer science. As a result, this paper presents 14 guidelines and seven research questions for future research concerning the dark sides of human-agent interaction in organisations.
