CYLENCE – Fighting Cyberbullying and Online Hate with Smart Tools
Cyberbullying and the spread of online hate speech are growing societal challenges — driven by the rapid use of social media ??
In 2023, around 14% of the German population experienced cyberbullying, with hate speech increasing by about 10% annually over the past five years.

At CYLENCE, we aim to develop media strategies and digital tools that support law enforcement and investigative authorities in responding to cyber abuse effectively and early.

? Our goals:
- Enable cross-platform reporting of incidents by citizens
- Automatically detect potential cyber abuse in public social media data
- Create visual analysis tools to help prioritize and respond to digital violence
- Provide a comprehensive situation overview for authorities
- Raise awareness through integrated, everyday technology
