Disengaged and Careless Responding in Large-Scale Assessments
Careless and disengaged occur when study participants answer the questions in surveys or tests (respectively) without due diligence. These behaviors were shown to exist in Large-Scale Assessments (LSAs), posing a threat to the validity of the assessment. Thus, the dissertation project aims at contributing to the understanding of careless and disengaged responding in LSAs, with a focus on the identification and handling of these behaviors in computer based assessments of the NEPS.
